Il marchio CLAUDIA LI, alla sua seconda collezione, nasce dall’omonima designer cinese dopo un percorso formativo alla Central Saint Martins ed un master alla Parsons School of Design, ed un paio d’anni passati tra un apprendistato da Brandon Maxwell, anch’egli stilista emergente che le ha fatto conoscere Lady Gaga (di cui era stylist), e il primo vero lavoro da Jonathan Anderson.

The brand CLAUDIA LI, to her second collection, born from the homonymous Chinese designer after a training course at Central Saint Martins and a master’s degree at Parsons School of Design, and a couple of years passed between an apprenticeship by Brandon Maxwell, himself emerging designer who introduced her to Lady Gaga (of which he was stylist), and the first real work by Jonathan Anderson.

La collezione autunno/inverno 2016 presentata durante la Settimana della Moda di New York, è incentrata su un concetto molto caro alla stilista: l‘auto- preservazione e la protezione delle proprie vulnerabilità.

The autumn / winter 2016 collection presented during the Fashion Week in New York, focuses on a concept very dear to the designer: the self-preservation and the protection of its own vulnerability.

Dopo un periodo di crisi personale difficile, il nuovo lavoro si concentra proprio su sul concetto di fragilità e tutela attraverso tessuti (denim, pelle vegana, lana e cotone in primo piano) che avvolgono il corpo e si annodano intorno ad esso.

After a difficult period of personal crisis, the new work focuses precisely on the concept of fragility and protection through fabrics (denim, vegan leather, wool and cotton at first instance) that wrap around the body and are tied around it.

Grandi sono le proporzioni delle maniche e delle cinture obi che accompagnano forme da kimono giapponese, incredibile il lavoro di tessitura effettuato a mano in quasi 90 ore da sapienti mani artigiane, in una tavolozza cromatica che accosta i profondi blu e neri, all’azzurro più freddo del jeans e al bianco assoluto, con accenni di un bordeaux ricco e pieno.

Bigger the proportions of the sleeves and obi belts accompanying forms of the Japanese kimono, the amazing hand-made weaving work in almost 90 hours of skilled craftsmen, in a color palette that mixes the deep blues and blacks, azure more cold of jeans and pure white, with hints of burgundy rich and full.
