A dream in white, a conceptual encounter between 40 sheath dresses and 1200 classic scultpures. During Altaroma Accademia Koefia and the Sapienza University give life together to an exhibition entirely dedicated to the “petite robe blanche”
The little black dress, launched in 1926 on Vogue and then became famous thanks to fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel, is its older brother. But the little white dress has retained all its charme (do you remember Sharon Stone in “Basic Instict”?), becoming the inspirational theme of the exhibition “La petite robe balche” organized by Accademia Koefia and the Sapienza University on the occasion of Altaroma‘s fashion week.
The second-year students of the Koefia’s Fashion Design Bachelor Degree Course realized 40 variants of the famous white sheath dress, investigating all the possible shapes and tone-on-tone decorations, finfding its essence or giving to it a dramatic touch. The white becomes conceptual, especially if matched with the classic majesty of the Roman and Greek sculptures.
Not a game of contrast between an ancient beauty and a modern allure, but a “correspondence of amorous senses” in which the classic scupltures are emphasized by the simplicity of the white fabrics and viceversa.
